vCHS App Services Backend Engineer (Linux)

Our Shanghai office is located in the Yangpu District, near Fudan University. We’ve recruited the smartest and most talented engineers from around China.
Job Description
We are seeking a brilliant and passionate Senior Software Engineer, who will build highly-scalable core infrastructure and application services for VMware’s next-generation hybrid cloud platform (vCHS). This engineer will use best-of-breed open-source technologies (Ruby, Redis, Puppet, etc.) to build resilient cloud-scale distributed systems on Linux.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated Ruby engineer who has a strong foundation in Linux and distributed systems. Rock-solid coding and debugging skills are a must.
Requirements
? Expertise with Ruby and Linux
? Solid background in Computer Science (algorithms, data structures, operating systems)
? Proven troubleshooting and performance-tuning experience
? Familiar with SQL and NoSQL databases, networking and Linux shell scripting
? Familiar with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), Agile, Scrum, and TDD
? Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, 5+ years of experience
? Prior experience designing and building cloud-scale distributed systems is a BIG plus?
? Prior experience with VMware products is a plus?
? Positive team attitude, happy to help others, learn, and take on new challenge
